【Synopsis & Characters】

In “The Hotel of my Dream” the most unfortunate new author in the history of literature, Kayoko (NON), who won the New Writer's Award but was criticized by the great writer Higashijujo Munenori, never made a spectacular debut and never got a chance to publish her novel, aims to make a comeback in the literary world.

As Kayoko's senior at university and her editor in charge, he is the most understanding person who recognizes Kayoko's guts and potential as a writer (and sometimes betrays her!). Kei Tanaka plays Endo, an elite editor at a major publishing house.

Kenichi Takito plays Munenori Higashijujo, an author who is a powerful figure in the publishing industry, and who holds a grudge against Kayoko for losing a manuscript to her and does everything in his power to prevent her from surviving in the publishing industry.

The other characters include Minami Tanaka as the mama of a prestigious club frequented by Munenori Higashijujo, Misaki Hattori as Arimori, a genius high school novelist who has a talent that comes along only once every 10 years and is the talk of the literary world, Akari Takaishi as a spoiled horse girl whom Munenori Higashijujo can never seem to get over, and NON as Sudo, a famous and charismatic bookseller who loves nothing but books. Kenichi Tachibana plays the role of a trendy actor who comes to Higashijujo Munenori's favorite club on the sly, and Ken Mitsuishi plays the role of an honest hotelier at the hotel where Endo stays with his family on Christmas Day, Higashijujo Munenori. Kei Tanakana
Is she an ally or not of Kayoko, played by NON?
It was a lot of fun to play two people who have an exquisite distance from each other, not just being senior and junior in college. It was my first time working with her, and I was surprised at how perfectly she played Kayoko anytime and anywhere. I was numbed by every scene.
Director Tsutsumi's funky direction was a lot of fun, and when Non-san said a long line in one scene, we all burst into applause.
I hope you will laugh at the betrayals and deceptions, and feel the ambition and passion of the characters in this exhilaratingly paced film!

Kenichi Takito
I felt that “The Hotel of my Dream” was both a realistic everyday life and a fantasy world. The original story and script were so interesting that I found it very difficult to act, and I remember I was battling with fear every day. I think that the director, Mr. Tsutsumi, and I are from the same town.
I am from the same town as the director, Mr. Tsutsumi, and it has been 14 years since we worked together on SPEC, so I was very happy to be able to work with him again. He has created many legends such as “Keizoku”, ‘TRICK’, and “20th Century Boys”, so I was very happy to be able to live in his worldview.

Minami Tanaka
It was my first time to work with NON, and I was completely mesmerized by her transparency, strength of core, and vitality. When she sang in the scene in the movie, she had such a glamorous look that everyone who was there was sucked in... I can't wait for the movie to be released! Misaki Hattori
Filming ended quickly, but the scene was much funnier than I had imagined from reading the script, and my expectations for the film grew even higher while shooting. I found Kayoko, played by NON, very attractive, energetic, and unpredictable, while at the same time being cute in her retro costume.
It was my first time to work with Tsutsumi's team, but I was thrilled to see how the director's unique direction made each scene more and more interesting on the set. I hope you will enjoy watching it on the big screen.

Ai Hashimoto

Ken Mitsuishi
This was almost my first time working with NON, and I was impressed by her straight eyes. No matter where she is, she always catches my attention. She is a one-of-a-kind actress.
I was only there for one day, but the Tsutsumi group was as exciting as ever! It was a very fun and fulfilling shoot, full of ideas.

Mayumi Wakamura
I haven't worked with the Tsutsumi team since “SICK'S Jo no Sho”, the final part of the SPEC saga. It was only a one-day shoot, but I enjoyed being immersed in director Tsutsumi's worldview.
NON was wonderful as the heroine, with her strong core and uninhibited, uninhibited spirit, and the kimono suited her to a surprising degree. Kenichi Takito, who also hails from Mumeijuku, was appearing in a film for the first time, but it was fun to see how he was able to create the atmosphere of a couple who have been together for many years in just a few moments.
