A beautiful and powerful portrayal of a woman facing adversity emerges—a fusion of Japanese traditional culture and authentic human drama.
NON stars as her “first dark hero” in the ABEMA original drama ‘MISS KING’. The full trailer, main poster visuals, and new cast members are now revealed! Furthermore, a simultaneous global release on Netflix has been confirmed!

■Full Trailer Now Available!

The film opens with protagonist Asuka (played by NON) clutching a knife, heading toward revenge against her father, Shōichi Yūki (played by Shidō Nakamura), a genius shogi player who abandoned his family when she was young.

While attempting to seek revenge alone, she encounters former shogi player Todo (Naohito Fujiki), who also harbors deep resentment toward Shoichi, and they decide to join forces.

Both bearing the same wounds, Asuka and Todo aim to become Japan's first female shogi players to achieve the only way to kill Shoichi: by defeating him in a match. From the depths of despair, they crawl back up through the shogi board.

■This poster visual captures the core “parent-child confrontation” of the story

The newly unveiled poster visual features a striking close-up of Asuka's piercing gaze as she moves a chess piece. It also presents a deeply resonant shot of the story's central “parent-child confrontation” between Asuka and Shoichi.

What will become of this life-or-death quest for vengeance? Set against the backdrop of Japan's traditional culture, this dynamic and stylish visual depicts one woman's journey. Keep your eyes on the poster visuals.

■New Cast Revealed!

Kaoru Okunuki, Shuto Mori, Yui Narumi, Tokuma Nishioka, and Sayaka Yamaguchi—the five star-studded main cast members are revealed all at once!

And today's reveal of the five cast members' roles is also noteworthy.

Kaoru Okunuki plays Asuka's biological mother, Keiko Kunimi. Abandoned by her husband Shoichi, she carries inner darkness and harbors resentment toward shogi, yet quietly portrays a mother who deeply loves Asuka.

Asuka's half-brother, Tatsuya Yuki, is played by actor Shuto Mori, a member of the dance & vocal group BUDDiiS.
He portrays a sarcastic, cunning shogi player tormented by feelings of inferiority towards his genius shogi player father.

Yui Narumi plays Yuna Hayami, a female shogi player idol within the shogi world who is Tatsuya's fiancée. Deep down, she struggles with her own desire to become a professional shogi player. She plays the crucial role of a “rival” who further fuels Asuka's desire for revenge.

Playing former Shogi Federation Chairman Tetsusai Ando is Tokuma Nishioka, who marks his 55th anniversary as an actor this year. Legendary actor Nishioka, who has appeared in numerous works, embodies the “pressure” and “dignity” of the shogi world with his profound presence in this production.

Playing Yuki Kaori, the current wife of Asuka's father Shoichi and mother of Tatsuya, is Sayaka Yamaguchi.
She stands firmly in Asuka's way as he seeks revenge, determined to stop at nothing to ensure the prestigious “Yuki family” remains at the pinnacle.

A powerful main cast has assembled to bring this story to life. Look forward to an intense human drama where conflicting motives and emotions collide.

■"MISS KING" Story
Born to a genius shogi player father, Asuka (NON).
She spent a happy childhood with her mother and father,
but one day, her father abandoned them both and left.
Asuka lived in poverty with her mother, but eventually her mother also passed away from illness, leaving Asuka utterly alone.

Meanwhile, the father who abandoned Asuka achieved success in the shogi world and basked in the spotlight.
Seeing him sparked murderous intent in Asuka, who attempted revenge. Yet, in that very moment, she unexpectedly displayed shogi talent.

Recognizing Asuka's talent, former shogi player [Tōdō (Naoto Fujiki)]—who shared a bitter past with Asuka's father—proposed a plan: “Let's seek revenge through shogi.”

As part of this scheme, under Tōdō's guidance, Asuka aimed to become “the first female shogi professional in history.”

This is the story of a woman imprisoned by hatred who reclaims her life through shogi.
