Joetsu Debut! “BUN BUN PARADE 2025” Report

2025.11.19

NON performed at “BUN BUN PARADE 2025,” the first music festival ever held in Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture, on November 16th.
This was NON's first live performance in Niigata.
Despite it being November, the weather was unseasonably warm and sunny. Numerous food trucks lined up in front of the Joetsu Cultural Center, creating a lovely, cozy scene filled not only with music fans but also many families.
PUFFY was unable to perform due to illness, so the festival opened with a last-minute appearance by Okamoto Shou of OKAMOTO'S. This was followed by performances from Soshi Sakiyama, Sabasister, Ai Higuchi, and finally, NON closed the show.

NON's familiar opening sound effect played, and she appeared with her band members, warmly welcomed by the cheers of the Joetsu audience. Riding the intro of “Haru yo Ukete tatsu,” she greeted them with, “Good evening, it's NON!” Though it had grown dark outside, her bright performance and singing voice, as if symbolizing the daytime weather, captivated the venue.

In the following track “Film no Hikari,” Shoko Nakamura's bass delivers a solid rhythm—a welcome return to the NON band lineup—while Takato Nagashima's powerful drums make you nod in agreement. The subsequent “Renarrate,” also the album title track, is an utterly beautiful song. NON's clear mid-range vocals combined with Kei Higuchi's undulating guitar riffs lift your spirits.

The MC took the stage again to greet the audience, expressing gratitude for their first visit to Niigata. They introduced the next song, “Annoying Neighbor,” explaining it was created as a cautionary tale to avoid becoming a noisy neighbor, then launched into the track. The bouncing rhythm was fun and thrilling. Then, cutting from the beautiful guitar tone, the intense NON and Higuchi's melodic intro to “The Taste of Dreams” begins. This song is a magnificent piece where momentum and melody fuse, expanding the possibilities of NON's music exponentially, sending the venue's energy to its peak.

Next up, “Yamanaï Girl”—a powerful girl's anthem that could be called NON's origin—led into NON's true specialty: the intense punk rock of “Second Hand.” Nonn's strumming guitar was so cool! During the MC, she declared powerfully, “I came to Niigata to eat delicious rice!” igniting the crowd before connecting into “Watashi wa Heimojiri.” In Joetsu too, she enjoyed the unity with the audience through call-and-response. The finale featured “Climy,” with lyrics by Ai Higuchi. This song wrapped vulnerability and intensity in pop, leaving NON's happiness as a parting gift for the venue as the festival concluded.
