NON has been announced as the voice of “Kaeru-kun” in the NHK Saturday drama “After the Quake,” episode 4, “Sequel to Super-Frog Saves Tokyo.”
It has been announced that NON will be the new voice of “Kaeru-kun” in NHK's Saturday drama “After the Quake”.
The drama is based on Haruki Murakami's short story collection “After the Quake” and consists of four stories depicting the 30 years after the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake and the Great East Japan Earthquake.
NON appears in the fourth story, “Sequel to Super-Frog Saves Tokyo.
Kaeru-kun” is a character in the form of a giant frog who suddenly appears in front of ‘Katagiri,’ played by Koichi Sato.
Frog-kun prevented the destruction of Tokyo with Katagiri 30 years ago, but Katagiri has no memory of it. Frog-kun visits him again and tries to save Tokyo from the earthquake.
This film will also be director Tsuyoshi Inoue's first work on film since “Amachan”.
It will be broadcast on Saturday, April 26, from 10:00 p.m. on NHK General.
Please be sure to watch it.
■Comment From NON
I was in Hyogo Prefecture on the day of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, but I was only one year old at the time and have no memory of that time.
However, I felt a sense of mission to be able to participate in the birth of this work in Japan, where various disasters occur, and to participate in this work by director Inoue as a voice actor.
I had a special time because I felt as if I was acting with Koichi Sato through the screen.
It is a work that throws up questions and themes in the back of our consciousness, something conceptual.
I hope many people will feel differently about it.
