"After the Quake“ (Director: Tsuyoshi Inoue), a film adaptation of Haruki Murakami's short story ”All God's Children Dance" (Shincho Bunko), had its world premiere at the 27th Shanghai International Film Festival on Monday, June 16.
NON participated in the film as the voice of “Kaeru kun” who saves Tokyo along with Katagiri, played by Koichi Sato.
At the venue where the premiere screening was held, 300 seats were sold out.
During the screening, the audience responded warmly, laughing at the dialogue between Katagiri and Kaeru kun.
The original Murakami works have been translated all over the world, and are especially popular in China, especially among the younger generation.
Although it was written 25 years ago, many people expressed sympathy for the themes that are still relevant today.
After the screening, many people commented on social networking sites,
"I was touched by the last part of the film".
"I am grateful to the director for giving me an opportunity to think about new values!"
"I was encouraged to know that tomorrow will surely come, regardless of whether or not I have escaped from the bottom of the pit."
The world premiere of the film “After the Quake” was a very exciting event.
"After the Quake" is scheduled to be released on October 3, 2025 at Theatre Shinjuku, Cineswitch Ginza, and other theaters nationwide.
