NON attended the completion preview screening for the film “Teppen no Mukou ni Anataga Iru,” which opens nationwide on October 31.
The premiere screening for “Teppen no Mukou ni Anataga Iru” was held.
Before an audience of 2,000 people who had eagerly awaited the film's completion, the cast members shared their thoughts on the project.
Facing an “Everest” banner measuring 8.849m × 15m—a nod to the world's highest peak at 8,849m—the entire cast walked together down a 12.4m silver runway commemorating Sayuri Yoshinaga's 124th film, marking the start of the stage greeting.
In her opening remarks, Ms. Yoshinaga expressed gratitude to the audience and the Tabei family who inspired the film, stating simply, “I'm truly happy” to have reached this day.
Amami also shared her joy at the film's completion, stating, “My feelings for the character mirrored my feelings for Ms. Yoshinaga, so I could truly empathize while acting. I'm very happy the film is finished.” Sato added, “It's a film where you can feel the kindness, so I hope you leave with your hearts enriched.” “It's a work that gave me courage too, so I hope it reaches everyone” (NON), “It's a film that will send you home with wonderful feelings, so please look forward to it” (Kudo),
“I'm very happy to have participated in a work that will surely be loved going forward” (Kimura), “It was a grueling shoot, but I'm relieved we made it to this day without injury” (Wakaba), and “I think it's a wonderful film that warms the heart, so I'd be happy if you leave feeling the same way” (Kashima). Each shared comments reflecting their confidence in the film. Director Sakamoto greeted the audience, stating, “As this is the first film produced by the Kinoshita Group featuring Ms. Sayuri Yoshinaga, I poured my heart into it.”
During the cast discussion about portraying their youth, Non shared, “Since I had to embody both Junko Tabei and Ms. Yoshinaga, I focused on how to express that. I consciously tried to capture even a hint of the magnetic pull in Ms. Yoshinaga's eyes.” She then recalled Yoshinaga's surprise visit to the wrap-up in Toyama: “Ms. Yoshinaga came alone, and the whole set's energy shot up. I felt rewarded, and she hugged me saying ‘Good work.’ The chocolate she gave me tasted especially delicious.” Yoshinaga also shared an episode revealing her deep passion for the film: “I'd wanted to visit for a long time but couldn't make it. On the final day, I jumped on the bullet train and went. Seeing everyone working so hard really moved me.”
