■ About the “JR Hokkaido Nemuro Main Line Hanasaki Line”
This 135.4-kilometer railway connects Kushiro and Nemuro in Hokkaido, a local line with a one-way journey of approximately two and a half hours.
Part of the JR Nemuro Main Line, this route has long been affectionately known as the “Hanasaki Line.”
It offers scenic views of forests, pastures, and the Pacific Ocean from the train windows, with a Ramsar Convention-registered wetland located along the line.
The Bekkanbeushi Marsh is a sanctuary where wild birds gather. Beyond the fantastical scenery woven by greenery and water, birds fly freely and animals never stay in one place. The marsh, greenery, sea, and sky seen from the train window change their expressions moment by moment.
A beautiful and powerful line where you can feel the dynamism of the Earth. That is the “Earth Exploration Railway Hanasaki Line.”
