NON has provided commentary for the documentary film ‘Ryuichi Sakamoto: Diaries,’ which traces the final three and a half years of world-renowned musician Ryuichi Sakamoto through his diaries.

The documentary ‘Ryuichi Sakamoto: Diaries,’ tracing the final three and a half years of world-renowned musician Ryuichi Sakamoto through his diaries, will be released on November 28.

NON had the wonderful opportunity to perform alongside Mr. Sakamoto, accompanying him on stage with the Tohoku Youth Orchestra and reading alongside him.

I was privileged to see an early screening of this film and provided comments.

 

【NON's Comment】

It still feels unreal. I find myself believing that Ryuichi Sakamoto is drifting somewhere, mingling with the sounds of piano and rain.

Watching this film, I clearly sensed that he clung to life for the sake of music.

We must understand the simple truth: music is born through living.

That Ryuichi Sakamoto truly lived. I will hold this firmly in my heart and listen to the sound.
