NON stars in the new Chukyo TV/Nippon TV network drama “Here Comes the Reserve Self-Defense Force Hero?!”. Premieres January 7th!
NON will appear as a regular cast member in the new drama “Here Comes the Reserve Self-Defense Hero?!”, premiering Wednesday, January 7, 2026, on Chukyo TV and Nippon TV's national network as part of the Wednesday Platinum Night lineup (airing every Wednesday at 12:24 AM).
Following the recent announcement of lead actor Fuma Kikuchi and original creator/screenwriter/director Koji Kato, NON was revealed today as an additional cast member.

NON plays one of the seven reserve hero candidates. Sae Hio , an office worker who avoids human contact due to “a certain reason” and stands out at work.

――Please share your thoughts when you received the offer for this project.
NON: I was surprised to hear that Mr. Koji Kato was making a drama! And I felt this excitement, like, “This sounds kinda fun...”
Though it was my first time meeting Mr. Kato, I was honored to be asked. I thought, “If I jump in, this could be fun,” so I took the plunge.
――Please tell me your thoughts after reading the script.
NON:I absolutely love hero stories. I'm a huge fan of superhero movies and have always taken on aggressive, proactive roles.
My heart was pounding as I read the script, only to find the heroes weren't fighting—they were holed up in rooms. They seemed to have abilities, but they were all hard to comment on. Yet as I kept reading, the heroes became funny and somehow relatable, and I grew more and more fond of them.
And when I realized how badly Mr. Kato wanted to share these endearing heroes with the world, I felt his incredibly pure passion.

Seven freeters, including Nagare (Fuma Kikuchi), are secretly summoned to the Ministry of Defense.
It turns out each of them possesses a “quirky superpower”!
What is the true purpose behind gathering them?!
Can these seven down-and-outs save the Earth with their complexes?!
