The drama *Happy Kanako’s Killer Life*—based on the four-panel manga of the same name (Seikaisha COMICS), which went viral on social media with over 2 million cumulative “likes” and has sold more than 1.2 million copies—premiered in February 2025.
As soon as the first episode of the series was released, it sparked a storm of praise, with comments like, “I laughed so hard,” “It’s so cathartic,” “It’s incredibly cool,” “It’s a waste to have it as an exclusive—it should be streamed elsewhere too,” and “My stress vanished in an instant.” Currently, Episode 1 of Season 1, available on the official DMM TV Drama YouTube channel, has recorded over 10 million views, and the total views of related videos on social media have surpassed an astonishing 130 million, making it a massive hit.
To ramp up the excitement for Season 2, a lineup of highly anticipated actors—combining both talent and popularity—has been revealed!
Ai Morikawa plays Ado, a cheerful, stylish girl with pink hair who’s a “workhorse.” Despite her glamorous looks, she possesses outstanding combat skills and sharp fighting moves, and suddenly appears before Kanako. Hikaru Takahashi has been cast as Nana, a mysterious girl belonging to a shadowy assassination organization who exudes an enigmatic aura and holds the key to the story; and Sayu Suzukawa will play Yui, a 16-year-old with a special keen intuition for detecting lies, whose presence will send major ripples through Kanako and her friends’ relationships.
