Today marks the opening day of the movie *Parallel and Vertical*, in which NON co-stars with Shota Yasuda.

 

On Friday, August 28, the film *Parallel and Vertical* opened nationwide.

*Parallel and Vertical* is a film in which Shota Yasuda has been involved since the project’s inception, and in which NON also co-stars.

The film tells the story of Daiki (played by Shota Yasuda), an older brother on the autism spectrum (ASD), and his younger sister Nozomi (played by NON), who works as a counselor and has supported her beloved brother all along.

Directed by Seitaro Kobayashi, known for films such as *The Family Secret* and *Everyday Mom*, this is a heartwarming drama that depicts the bonds of family.

＜STORY＞
Daiki, who has autism spectrum disorder, and his younger sister Nozomi, who has supported her brother since they were children. The siblings lost their mother when they were young, distanced themselves from their father—who tended to neglect them—and have been doing their best to get by on their own.

Daiki hardly speaks and his facial expressions seem to change very little. Having moved out of the group home to live on his own with the goal of becoming independent, Daiki has his own set of rules. He is so meticulous and particular that he arranges everything in parallel and perpendicular lines, and he carefully aligns the tableware on his desk. His weekly dinner with Nozomi is always at 7:00 p.m. If it’s even one minute late, he becomes restless.

Nozomi, who works as a counselor, receives a marriage proposal from her boyfriend. Feeling a twinge of anxiety, she decides to travel to Tokyo with her older brother to meet her fiancé’s parents...
