I was surprised at first that I would be playing the role that was played by Shinichi Chiba in the original, but I was very happy.<\/p>\n<p>Director Higuchi said, \u201cI first encountered this film 50 years ago and adored it. To be allowed to make it myself was truly an opportunity I could not have wished for.
