It has been announced that NON and Shota Yasuda will co-star in the film Parallel and Vertical.
\nThe nationwide theatrical release is scheduled for Friday, August 28, 2026.<\/p>\n
Directed by Shoutaro Kobayashi, known for films like The Secret of the Family and Mom Every Day, this heartwarming human drama depicts the bonds of family.<\/p>\n
The story follows Daiki (Shota Yasuda), an older brother with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and his sister Nozomi (NON), who works as a counselor while supporting her beloved brother.<\/p>\n
Spanning approximately two years from conception to release, the script was meticulously crafted with supervision from ASD specialists.<\/p>\n
NON also approached her role by creating opportunities to hear directly from individuals with siblings who have disabilities, staying close to the voices of those involved and engaging sincerely in the film's creation.<\/p>\n

\nIt was two years ago that I first encountered the original screenplay \u201cParallel and Vertical\u201d by Umi Yamano.
\nOn the day of our first meeting\u2014me, Shota Yasuda who initiated the project, Umi Yamano who wrote the original concept and screenplay, and producer Gen Sato\u2014we somehow ended up pouring out our personal histories and innermost thoughts. I believe that time together became the core of the subsequent scriptwriting process.
\nIt would be my greatest happiness if this film could help people facing various difficulties walk together, even as they grapple with conflicts and engage in minor skirmishes.
