Junko Tabei, who founded a women's climbing club under the motto \u201cLet's go on overseas expeditions with only women,\u201d succeeded in becoming the first woman in the world to climb Mount Everest in 1975 as deputy leader and climbing leader of the Japanese Women's Everest Expedition.<\/p>\n

Based on the true story of Japan's great female mountaineer, Junko Tabei, the film \u2018Teppen no Mukou ni Anata ga Iru\u2019 (You Are Beyond the Summit) depicts her heroic life on a grand scale\u2014from her pioneering female ascent of Everest to her battle with illness in later years, continuing to climb mountains until just before her death despite being given a terminal prognosis. The Blu-ray and DVD release is set for May 20, 2026!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Starring as the protagonist, Junko Tabe, is Sayuri Yoshinaga, a leading actress in Japanese cinema, marking her 124th film appearance.
