The complete series of “Earth Nonfiction,” narrated by NON, is now available. It showcases the charms of the Hanasaki Line in Hokkaido. A comment from NON has also been released.

Episodes 3 and 4 of the documentary series “Earth Nonfiction”—produced by Nemuro City, Hokkaido, and narrated by NON—began streaming on July 31.

■ What Is the “JR Hokkaido Nemuro Main Line (Hanasaki Line)”?
This 135.4-kilometer railway line connects Kushiro and Nemuro in Hokkaido and is a local line with a one-way travel time of approximately two and a half hours.
As part of the JR Nemuro Main Line, this route has long been affectionately known as the “Hanasaki Line.”
It is a scenic route where forests, pastures, and the Pacific Ocean unfold outside the train windows, and wetlands registered under the Ramsar Convention are located along the line.
A beautiful and resilient route where you can feel the dynamism of the Earth—that is the “Earth Exploration Railway: Hanasaki Line.”

■ “Earth Nonfiction” Documentary Series: Episodes 3 & 4 Now Available
The Hanasaki Line runs right through the heart of breathtaking scenery. This four-part special series explores the dynamism of “Earth” felt through its majestic landscapes, as well as the charm and essence of the nature and culture hidden within the regions along the line.

Following the release of Episode 1, “The Kingdom of Wetlands,” and Episode 2, “A Paradise for Birds,” in November, Episode 3, “Cuisine at the Ends of the Earth,” and Episode 4, “The Hanasaki Line: A Source of Local Pride,” are now available for streaming.

Even as I provided the narration, I was completely overwhelmed by the scenery unfolding on the screen.
It’s so majestic—I feel that same excitement as if I were stepping into uncharted territory.
And I could really feel the deep love from everyone guiding us along the Hanasaki Line.
The Hanasaki Line offers a view of nature unlike anywhere else.
It made me want to immerse myself in this breathtaking scenery someday, too.
