The drama series *Here Comes the Reserve Self-Defense Hero?!*, starring NON, won the “Excellence Award” at the 2026 National Association of Commercial Broadcasters in Japan Awards!

The Chukyo TV/Nippon TV Wednesday “Platinum Night” drama *Kochira Yobi Jie Hero-ho?!*, starring NON, was selected for the “Excellence Award” in the TV Drama Program category at the 2026 National Association of Commercial Broadcasters in Japan Awards.

The National Association of Commercial Broadcasters of Japan Awards are a traditional and prestigious award selected from all commercial television dramas broadcast that year.

Amid fierce competition—with only one Grand Prize winner and six Excellence Award winners—*Kochira Yobi* was selected.

In the judges’ comments, the series was praised for “its setting—a hero story transplanted to Japan—and for successfully incorporating the creative freedom and comedic touch characteristic of late-night programming without coming across as cheap.” It was also commended for “assembling a cast of actors with solid acting skills and demonstrating a commitment to creating a full-fledged comedy rather than mere skits.”

NON played Sae/Sae Hio, an office worker who, for “a certain reason,” avoids interacting with others and stands out as an outsider at her company. She is one of seven “Reserve Self-Defense Heroes” secretly assembled by the Ministry of Defense, and possesses a unique “quirky ability.”

Saé, who has kept her distance from others while harboring circumstances she cannot confide in anyone, gradually begins to change through her interactions with her eccentric companions—a development that became one of the key threads enriching the story.

This award is the culmination of the passion and outstanding creative talent of everyone involved in the production—including the director, screenwriter, cast, and crew.
