NON, the lead actress in the ABEMA original drama *MISS KING*, won the Best Actress Award in Japan at the “Asian Academy Creative Awards 2026”

NON, who starred in the original drama *MISS KING*, which streamed on ABEMA in September 2025, has won the Best Actress in Japan award at the *Asian Academy Creative Awards 2026*, an international award that recognizes outstanding content from across Asia.

The “Asian Academy Creative Awards 2026” is an international award that selects the No. 1 entry from content nominated by countries and regions across the Asia-Pacific region and showcases it to the world; it is Asia’s largest and most prestigious international competition. Launched in 2018, the awards feature one entry selected to represent each country or region, which then advances to the final round of judging as a “National Winner.”

“MISS KING,” starring NON, is a drama centered on the theme of “shogi.” The series meticulously portrays the powerful journey of Asuka Kunimi—played by NON—a protagonist whose life was taken away by her genius shogi-playing father. Driven by the talent that blossomed from her deep hatred and her unwavering determination to forge her own path, she fights to reclaim her life. ■Synopsis
Asuka (NON) was born to Shoichi (Shido Nakamura), a genius shogi player. As a child, the three of them—Asuka, her mother, and Shoichi—lived happily together, but one day, Shoichi abandoned them and walked out. Eventually, her mother passed away from an illness, leaving Asuka all alone. Meanwhile, Shoichi had achieved great success in the world of shogi. Driven by a desire to kill him upon seeing his success, Asuka attempts to take revenge, but ends up demonstrating her talent for shogi right then and there. Recognizing her talent, former shogi player Todo (Naohito Fujiki) suggests, “Take your revenge through shogi,” and Asuka sets her sights on becoming “the first female professional shogi player in history.” However, standing in her way is the “Yuki family,” which wields immense influence over the shogi world.
